Sleep Aid Sounds Benadryl As A Sleep Aid

Getting inspiration in dreamland

A recurring dream is not uncommon. But Donald Meyer's is a bit of a doozy.

The St. Cloud, Minn., resident is a number cruncher by day and game inventor by night. And not just by night, but in his dreams.

Talk about taking sleeping on the job to a new level.

"After a few hours of sleep, my mind is rested, my body's rested and that's when the games want to come," Meyer said. "I'll wake up at 2 o'clock and have this game in my mind. Then I refine it over and over in my sleep over however many nights and catch most of the bugs. At some point, boom, the whole thing is there. I don't talk about it too much because it sounds crazy."

Ya think? Still, creativity works in mysterious ways, and it's hard to argue with Meyer's results. His first game, Keesdrow, has garnered honors ranging from a Children's Choice Award in Canada to a "Top 5 Games Award" from Mensa and sold 25,000 units in less than three years.

Radio & TV Talk

Will there be diminishing returns for a show that didn't quite get back its ratings when it came back a second time at 96rock? He said the show, with "Southside" Steve back, is much better for it and he expects ratings will do as well as they did on the stronger 96.1 signal. "The whole signal issue gets overplayed," he said.

The Regular Guys modus operandi is to mock the bosses. "I'm willing to take it," Lewis said. How much leeway will they really have to do that? "This is not a show to be micromanaged," he said. "From an artistic standpoint, we brought them in because we like what they do."

Ben the Bunnyman is back. So is homeless karaoke and the FU line. DUI lawyer George Stein will return, too, later in the week.

The Regular Guys are in Bert's old studios while Bert is over at 99X's studios.

Luke Wilson (And His Mustache) Head Straight to DVD

Luke Wilson put on his exercise clothes and took his mustache for a belated New Year's resolution (?) walk/jog on Monday in LA. Luke has been M.I.A. for a while working on his facial hair and unfortunately it sounds like his latest film is similarly unsuccessful. He's had a couple of duds recently with The Wendell Baker Story briefly in theaters and Idiocracy going right to the shelves of Blockbuster (though he was momentarily in 3:10 To Yuma...random). Plus, his Blonde Ambition with Jessica Simpson is out for rental this Tuesday. Remember, however, it wasn't quite straight to DVD. I'm guessing I might be the only one renting that next week?
